On The Air Waves
![]() Mark Ruffin |
Several cuts from my CD: my original "You make it better", "Nola's Song", and "Until I met You (Corner Pocket)" have begun to get rotation on a great jazz radio station in town Miles Ahead Jazz!
![]() Neil Tesser |
I'd sent my stuff off only a week before, and the hosts for the different radio shows Mark Ruffin and Neil Tesser have been nothing but class.Check out their profiles here, these guys are no slouches(check out the interview in their joint show #12 with Al Jarreau at their nationally sydicated joint gig, www.ListenHereRadio.com) each having prominent careers in jazz radio and in print before undertaking Miles Ahead Jazz.
The really cool thing is that these well traveled cats really like some of the cuts on my CD so I must be doing something right!
Here's what you can do to support:
- Go to the stream of their internet radio program at which is always on or check out their live show on AM 1470 from 2pm to 7pm and also on AM 1240 from 5pm to 7pm.
- Give them feedback on my tunes when you hear em or on the station in general(their programming is great!) at http://milesaheadjazz.com/contact.htm
If you're into jazz perhaps Miles Ahead can be your new home away from home. It's literally the only jazz station in the Chicago land area playing prime time rush hour jazz.

A smashing success!
Last night, Ken Arlen's new band Front of House showcased (made up of a great friend and the one who got me singing outside of church, Shannon Wright, my compadre who annouces and sings at the Green Mill, David Sherman, and yours truly). It went just fine and it seems as if we even secured mored wedding dates as a result of this little event.
It may not be jazz, but it's fun and it's practical.
