Oh my, there's a ton of stuff going on (it's an election year and our country is as polarized as it's ever been, gay marriages in San Fran, the passion of Christ, etc...) and I have my opinions on all these things, but I think maybe I'm gonna hedge on this whole telling all thing(by the way, let me know if you want a bbs on this site and I'll whip one up for you(take 5 minutes).
If I ever get famous, then I'll start throwing my opinions around cause then it'll matter.
Right now I wanna talk about jazz and maybe a bit about myself.
Who is Marc "Courtney" Johnson? (So of course he starts with himself)
Stats:
Race: African-American(but then you could see that), personally, I prefer black, less syllables.
Born: 9/5/67 yes I was born in mid-late 60's but everybody thinks I'm a lot younger. In my 20's I hated it, but lately it works to my advantage, and like my mom always told me, good black don't crack.
Height: 6'2"
weight: 215 lb (all muscle)
Faith: Christian (coming up on 12 years!)
My family: I feel blessed by God to have met and married my best friend in 1996. Out of our union have come (in my unbiased opinion) the two most beautiful, wonderful children we know. They thrill and delight us every day.
Dream: There are many, but most immediately to make it as a jazz artist.
Day job: I'm a computer programmer, myself and my esteemed colleagues(6 of us in total) built and maintain http://www.cbot.com/ the website of the 3rd largest futures exchange in the world(plus the intranet, extranet and a bunch of little web applications as well).
One Wierd thing about me: I have what at first glance might appear an excessive orientation to goals and goal setting and micromanaging my life, I've kept daily statistics of my progress in 6 different areas since the 2nd quarter of 1998, plus daily, weekly, quarterly, annual goals, all that stuff. I never really talk about it too much and I've resisted the urge to "impose" my ideas about this on others. I'll make no more mention of it here.
Hobbies: Art(drawing and painting), Fitness(I work out three times a week so it's more a life style than a hobby), and up til now, I would've included singing in this list.

I tried writing something creative and clever here. It seemed the thing to do, this being the first post of my BLOG and all, but it just was not happening. I guess those muscles have atrophied a bit. I'll whip em into shape as I go here.
Everthing in its time.
