Well it's been a little while and it's passed time I get a new entry in here. I must say being out and about weekly singing in different venues has been a blast and very educational. Along the way I've met some amazing and legendary cats and I've acquired a fan or two.

I'm devoting this entry to two special fans who live in the UK, Deborah Richardson and Deborah Bourne (the Double D's as they prefer).

left is Deborah Richardson and on the right, Deborah Bourne: the DOUBLE D's from the U.K.

Kimberly Gordon(the Nightengale of Katerina's) and Randy Tressler a superb pianist that I've had the pleasure of working with

I met them at the Green Mill where they were unwinding at the end of an intense business trip.
Their enthusiasm for my performance took me by surprise. Definitely a breath of fresh air in
a tough town that doesn't really have much to say to its artists (unless you make a mistake)!
I got their business cards and thanked them for their encouragement, and thought that was that!

But they came back in town a few weeks later and when it looked like because of the intensity of
their schedules, they weren't going to be able to get out to one of my gigs, they re-arranged their flight schedules just to see little old me!!

That gig at Katerina's started out as a comedy of errors:

a) I'd just gotten a wisdom tooth out the night before

b) I got rear-ended on the way to the gig only because I went many blocks passed the place
(picture me scratching my head trying to figure out how the club could be across the street
from the cemetary)

c) Tried to catch the bus which as soon as I got on it turned down the wrong street(of course the right bus was right behind it and I watched in dismay as zipped on by.

But once I got there. There were the double D's (the only folk at the place) and it was worth every bad thing to see them there and to be able to talk with them and sing to them. Kimberly and I had a blast.

Double D's thanks you for your support, I look forward to seeing you again if/when you get back to Chi-Town. If this new career of mine should happen to get off of the ground, perhaps I'll be able to go over there to do a gig or two!
